Position: The Georgetown Company is looking for a project manager with a passion for real estate development.  The ideal candidate excels in an entrepreneurial environment and has the experience to take responsibility for one or more real estate development projects. The position reports directly to the senior leadership of the firm and primarily involves the day-to-day management and oversight of one of the most prominent real estate development projects in Washington, D.C.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: daily management of the project’s design and construction consultants; lead project team through D.C.’s permitting process; prepare bank requisitions; develop and maintain project budgets; assist team in updating financial pro-formas; assist investor and lender reporting; update project schedule; assist the firm with future financing efforts; and support firm’s work with an internationally-renowned hospitality brand.

 

Additionally, the project manager may assist the Washington, DC office in project and asset management of other commercial real estate investments. The candidate will ideally become fully immersed in Georgetown’s variety of development and investment projects and help the firm build its Washington, DC portfolio. Note the position may require some travel.

Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have the following background and skill set.

• 5 to 7 years of experience in real estate development project management.

• Experience successfully navigating DC’s permitting process.

• Experience managing the wide array of development team members including, but not limited to, architects, engineers, permit expediters, utility companies, specialty consultants, and general contractors.

• Strong analytical financial skills to develop, maintain, and project expenses, cash-flows, and financing draw packages.

• Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office products, and comfort creating presentation documents in either Word or PowerPoint.

• Proficiency in an industry-standard project schedule software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, etc.).

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.

• Excellent self-starter with strong work ethic, project-oriented, results-drive, and a problem solver.

• Excellent written and verbal skills.

• Ability to interact with clients and senior partners respectfully and effectively.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
