The Manager, Portfolio Analytics will work within the Asset Management team at Starwood Retail Partners and will interface with all departments within the organization.  The position will play an integral role in supporting the performance of and reporting for the portfolio with a focus on improving the efficiency and accuracy of information to senior management. This position is based in Chicago, IL.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial and operating reporting package, including variance analysis (actual to actual, actual to budget, actual to forecast).
• Prepare and analyze operating metrics reports on a monthly basis including sales, occupancy, leasing activity reports, and rent spreads.
• Review public financial reports to evaluate the business and benchmark against public peers.
• Collaborate with Asset Management to create budgets and long-term forecasts.
• Perform portfolio level analysis of budget/forecast data to identify trends, issues and updates to model assumptions
• Drive special projects throughout the company including applicable company-wide IT, budgeting/forecasting and analytics initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of information reported to management.
• Understand the information needs of various functions within SRP and identify the best way to meet those needs.
• Ad hoc analysis of financial results

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be a professional with demonstrated experience in the role or a similar role.

Experience and Training:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Real Estate
• 3-6 years of experience in a related field (real estate strongly preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (IF/VLOOKUP/INDEX formulas and pivot tables necessary, basic macros a plus)
• Experience with Cognos TM1, Salesforce, or JD Edwards
• Familiarity with Argus Enterprise
• Previous real estate experience a plus
