Real Estate Asset Manager

Prime Storage is a real estate owner-operator focused on acquiring and adding value to a growing portfolio of self-storage facilities located throughout the United States. The company combines an off-market approach to acquisitions with institutional management methods. The primary function of the Real Estate Asset Manager is to assist with maximizing the revenue potential of each property and identifying new methods of creating longer-term additional value in the asset. This means visiting properties throughout Prime Storage s national portfolio, so as to determine if the firm s policies and procedures are being followed in such a way as to optimize each property s net operating income. This includes both top-line and bottom-line initiatives.

 

The Real Estate Asset Manager will:

  • Travel to properties to inspect and understand existing property conditions, capital expenditures, staffing, occupancy, revenue and marketing opportunities;
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure properties meet quality and efficiency standards set by the company;
  • Assist with new and existing hires;
  • Evaluate the performance of District Managers in overseeing on-site personnel;
  • Prepare written summaries of each property visit, with specific observations, judgments and recommendations;
  • Perform financial analysis, market studies, etc., as may be needed;
  • Maintain a high level of communication and follow-up with senior management.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Marketing or a related field;
  • 3+ years of experience and demonstrated growth in Finance and/or Operations positions, preferably in service-oriented industries such as Retail Sales, Hotel, Leasing, Travel, Car Rental, Equipment Rental or Self Storage;
  • The ability to collaborate, communicate and interact with various management levels within the organization;
  • Strong computer skills (MS Suite office of programs including Word, Excel, Access, and Project);
  • Valid state driver s license;
  • Proven ability to consistently meet and exceed performance standards;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Ability to travel regularly.
