VP Digital & Technology - Global Investment Management

Role Purpose:

connected architecture of systems and applications across lines of business and geographies, leading technology teams on innovation through exploration of new technologies with an emphasis on speed to market with quality delivery.

As a Vice President, Digital and Technology, the primary responsibility will be to lead the delivery of a global program that supports Investment Management business line. Be a hands-on technologist with a focus on data and lead the cloud transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Line of Business technology enablement leaders in evaluating architectural alternatives and support them in selecting approaches for provisioning new capabilities (build / buy / partner)
• Work closely with global business teams to understand multiple functional areas of the organization to cater to the business needs
• Identify and drive opportunities to simplify and leverage the existing tools/assets and resources across the technology organization
• Create and manage product delivery roadmaps for one or two major programs
• Create global agile teams by recruiting product managers, scrum masters, & development leads and engineers to drive agile adoption
• Serve as a point of escalation and drive resolution for conflicting issues within the application domain, while aiding in the architecture and design of application solutions that will meet business needs
• Driving adherence to security, compliance directives and best-practices
• Familiarity with open source projects such as Kafka, Docker, relational and no-sql databases, frameworks such as Spring, Angular JS etc. to build cloud based products
• Experience in managing teams that delivered systems/applications using GoLang, Java, C#, Javascript languages
• Design and deliver highly available distributed systems that facilitate web/restful/API services which allow integration with various scalable data stores, business applications, etc.
• Employ Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools for optimal productivity
• Utilize on premise and cloud based architecture i.e. AWS, Azure, etc. to define the conceptual and logical architecture for key enterprise capabilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

Person Specification:

• Established leadership experience in large organizations comparable to CBRE
• Experience in the delivery of data platforms specifically on the cloud
• Proven ability to effect organizational change
• Possesses expertise across multiple architecture domains, forward- thinking, and well-versed in emerging technologies and trends
• Experience in creating and successfully leading technology delivery teams
• Have a strong, pragmatic approach to leading architecture and development solutions, with a proven record in technology planning and delivery
• Proven people management skills, with a track record in developing people and driving performance improvements through leadership
• Ability to prioritize and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
• Driven, confident, collaborative and assertive where required. Able to embrace the culture of CBRE and help maintain our values or Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence
• Experience of managing product delivery is a must
• Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization
• Prior experience in financial/investment management companies is preferred

Skills Required:

• 10+ years experience in the delivery of technology solutions using Java, C++, C# languages. GoLang experience is a plus
• 10+ years experience in the delivery of technology solutions using various messaging frameworks, web services and SOA based frameworks
• Experience of working in a globally distributed product delivery teams
• Strong expertise in design, development, and maintenance of distributed applications & systems
• Extensive experience in architectural design enterprise products
• Experience working in Dev/Ops and agile development environments
• A good standard of education BS or MS in engineering or computer science essential
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
