Company:

Our client, a Washington, DC area based, multifamily investment & development company seeks an exceptional property management executive to join the Company’s senior management team.  With several decades of experience investing, developing and managing successful real estate properties/projects across the Mid-Atlantic, this organization continues to drive their unique and inventive approach to creating first class communities and value to their investors. 

 

Position:

Reporting to executive leadership, the property management/operations executive will oversee, and assume full responsibility for the Company’s day to day portfolio operations comprised of just under 25 multifamily properties / 6000 units.  Through effective leadership, financial insight and innovative business strategies, this person will be a critical part of the senior leadership team in their quest for driving future growth and success. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a first-class accountability and data-driven property management operation for the organization. 
  • Consistently deliver financial performance in line with best in class benchmarks.
  • Enhance operational efficiencies across the property management operation, and where necessary, propose new organizational structure to achieve best in class processes.
  • Collaborate with other Company departments providing operational expertise to aid in acquisition/disposition diligence and support of construction and new development initiatives.
  • Oversee a large team comprised of Regional, Community and Service Managers and provide financial and operational guidance/support to achieve property/portfolio objectives.
  • Review, approve and collaborate with other departments on property and portfolio level capital improvement projects.
  • Foster an environment of high performance and employee satisfaction

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree / Minimum of 7-10 years in Regional, Area and/or District level supervisory type roles within sophisticated multifamily property management company/operations.
  • Strong track record of successful personnel management – hiring, training/mentoring and developing folks at all different experience levels. 
  • High level of business acumen.  Ability to think strategically, see the big picture of the property management business and deliver results.
  • Proven experience managing a large # of multifamily/assets and unit counts.  Preference for experience with several different types of multifamily property types (i.e. garden, mid and high rise).
  • Strong familiarity with overseeing complex, lease-up & rehab type assets/projects.  Exposure to Class A properties highly desirable.  
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills – a genuine desire to have vision and lead.  Ability to generate consensus and drive decisions outcome. 
  • Outstanding time management/project management skills. 
  • Strong sense of urgency, high level of professionalism and exceptional work ethic.
  • Team-oriented with uncompromised integrity.
  • Mid-Atlantic regional market/submarket knowledge and experience strongly preferred.
