Sr Development Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Oversee all aspects of commercial property design and construction with a particular focus on office and industrial.  Experience in retail, multi-family residential, and/or healthcare development assignments is a plus. Specific responsibilities would include selecting, managing, contracting, and administrating projects from initial selection of design teams through the completion of construction.

• Procure and manage design team and consultants from preliminary design to project completion.
• Oversee team of external consultants in pursuit of approvals and permits on development projects.
• Procure and manage contractor teams from pre-construction to completion, including full review and approval of budget estimates, schedules, change orders and close out documents. 
• Assist with preparation of project proforma.
• Coordinate with utility companies, city officials, MUDS, and other 3^rd party jurisdictional entities throughout the design and construction of projects.
• Manage project reporting for internal requirements, venture partners, and project lenders.
• Responsible for due diligence, inspections, and contractor administrator services.
• Develop and maintain successful customer relations, internal and external.  Interact and understand corporate initiatives and goals.
• Assist in the pursuit of new development opportunities.
• Manage closeout, building start up, and coordinate building turnover with facilities/property management.
• Maintain communications of project status with development officers, equity partners, brokers, and lending institutions.
• Review and approve all invoices including contractor progress payments.   
• Manage owner FF&E procurement.
• Understand and interpret lease language to fulfill owner responsibilities.
• Act as landlord liaison for tenant representatives.
• Perform various local Business Unit duties as required.

Bachelor s degree (minimum) in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering from a 4 year college or university. 

Prefer applicant have a minimum of 10+ years experience in construction management, design, and/or commercial development.

Knowledge and understanding of construction practices/techniques, contract management, AIA documents, contract law, project controls, and building support systems.

Leadership qualities including team building and training.

Ability to lead/manage development project.

Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability.

Proven record of excellent customer service and well respected in the industry.    

Requires general knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to create budgets and manage development costs.
