We have a rare opportunity to join our organization, heading up our corporate accounting function and team, and you could be just the leader we're looking for. As the Corporate Controller, you will lead corporate accounting, ensuring strategic planning and oversight of financial processes and systems, comprehensive internal controls, budgeting, reporting and audits.

 

Your role will include:

  • Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, General Ledger, Revenue Recognition and budget forecasting for the corporate entities.
  • Analyze and optimize workflow of the department, ensuring strong, well-documented processes and policies, development of a comprehensive set of internal controls to safeguard assets/risk management for the company, that ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial statements including implementing, documenting, monitoring, and enhancing as needed.
  • Manage the corporate close process and prepare and publish timely and accurate monthly / quarterly / periodic management and regulatory reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, regulatory requirements and bank policies.
  • Prepare monthly cash position statements and cash forecast models to ensure adequate liquidity to entities.
  • Prepare monthly budget to actual financial performance and forecasts on an accrual basis.
  • Prepare annual forward multi-year budgets for the sub-entities and the parent company’s consolidated budget.
  • Coordinate the preparation of any local, state and federal regulatory reporting as required, including taxes and fund reporting
  • Manage internal audits for both corporate entities, as required.
  • Act as liaison with tax preparers to ensure timely tax preparation and filing.
  • Oversee preparation of tax returns and K-1s.
  • Oversee accounting team covering GL, AP, and treasury, ensuring standards and process are outlined, and that the needs of the organization are communicated and met, while supporting and developing of each team member.
  • Assist the team and Partners with additional projects as needed basis.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP guidelines.
  • Ability to successfully interface and build strong cross-functional relationships with all levels of internal and external partners and team members, finding common ground and solving problems for the good of all.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including the ability to write advanced formulas and provide sophisticated Excel reports.
  • Ability to query data from accounting software and analyze using Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills (in English), allowing for clear and succinct communication in a variety of settings (phone, in-person and email), and with people of various backgrounds and levels, both internally and externally.
  • A strong customer focus, with dedication to meeting the expectations, needs and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to lead and develop direct reports, providing challenging and stretching tasks and assignments, while creating strong morale and spirit on the team and managing accountability as needed.
  • Ability to follow up on, and following through with, multiple priorities and tasks, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical skills with great attention to detail.

Minimum qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field.
  • Active CPA designation.
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Corporate Controller, with at least 4 year of experience managing and leading a team.
  • Experience with multiple entity consolidations that include non-controlling interests.
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, corporate and partnership tax.
  • Experience in public accounting preferred.
  • Experience with accounting software, with preference for Netsuite and/or Timberline systems.
  • Experience developing and implementing a new General Ledger and Chart of Accounts system helpful.
