Fund Controller

Creek Lane Capital, a growing real estate investment manager based in Chicago, is seeking an accounting professional to join its team as a Fund Controller.  The person in this role will perform all related duties as controller for existing Creek Lane Real Estate Funds and future investment partnerships controlled by Creek Lane, as well as, prepare and maintain books and records for Creek Lane Capital.  The Controller will make an impact by collaborating with Creek Lane principals in all aspects of firm operations.  Role responsibilities and qualifications are further outlined below:

Major Responsibilities:

• Review Fund I quarterly financial statements prepared by a Fund Administrator and prepare quarterly financials for other Creek Lane managed funds. 
• Prepare investment capital calls and distributions.
• Direct payables process following established Creek Lane cash management policies. Prepare wire entries and ACH payments.
• Monitor cash positions, facilitate line draws, monitor debt repayments, and coordinate loan compliance.
• Assist third party tax advisor in providing info for tax work. Review investor K-1s and returns.
• Oversee audits and provide audit requests to third party audit as needed.
• Calculate asset management fees (quarterly).
• Assist in questions from investors (minimal).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. CPA required. 7+ years’ experience.
