POSITION SUMMARY:
The Energy Management Systems (EMS) Coordinator will be based in our Columbus, Ohio office, working from home initially. This position provides remote support to monitor, trouble shoot and modify building automation/energy management systems for HVAC, refrigeration and lighting controls for designated clients. The ideal candidate will have some HVAC experience or at least some relevant technical experience. EMS experience is a plus but not required.
Varying schedules available including 1st, 2nd or 4-10 hour shifts. All shifts will require working one weekend day.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review history of location for potential trends
Review alarm history to assist in triage of store issues
Check controls for HVAC equipment operation via remote access
Remotely reset or adjust controls settings to resolve issues and minimize unnecessary HVAC dispatches
Assist technicians in trouble shooting control problems remotely via phone
Electronically dispatch work orders to repair contractors, as needed
Document actions and related information into the history of the location
Lighting schedule administration
Operate a personal computer and related software and demonstrate proficiency to prepare work orders, documents, e-mail and timesheets.
Make recommendations to Team Leads on improvements to client systems
May be required to work on-call hours as needed
Must log into phone system and be available to answer inbound calls from field technicians

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Principles, methods, materials and tools used in the HVAC trade; the hazards and precautionary methods; the theory and practical applications of commercial and solid state electronic control systems; the functions and mechanics of HVAC systems, centrifugal chillers, screw chillers, boilers and pumps
Basic knowledge on electrical troubleshooting
Basic understanding on HVAC systems and controls
Basic understanding of automation system operations
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics related to the HVAC
Listen and communicate effectively with a diverse group of people via e-mail or phone
Demonstrated ability for problem solving
Self-motivated
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products
Detail oriented
Ability to meet deadlines
Adaptable to an ever changing environment
Multitasking capabilities
Technical skills and aptitude in transferrable fields
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical aptitude or applicable experience to understand or learn hardware and control systems required
Combination of training and/or experience in HVAC operations and maintenance preferred
Building Automation and/or Energy Monitoring System experience preferred
Experience operating a computer-based HVAC system, for an energy management program, in a commercial setting preferred.
