The City of Moorpark is excited to recruit a Senior Housing Analyst to join the Community Development Department.  This position will offer a unique opportunity to re-imagine and grow the City's Housing Program, including the first-time home-buyer program, home rehabilitation program, and development of new housing projects.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a wide variety of people with the goal of housing preservation and development throughout the City.  The Senior Housing Analyst will create new systems to track the existing programs.  The City hopes this person will seek new partnerships to expand our housing stock in Moorpark.  With recent changes in state and local housing laws, the City is eager to include the new Senior Housing Analyst to help with the City's update to the City's General Plan Housing Element and Zoning Code.

 
Under general direction of the Community Development Director, the Senior Housing Analyst generally manages the activities and operations of the City's Housing Programs.  The City intends to create and protect housing opportunities within the City to meet the needs of various income levels, household sizes and preferences.  This position may coordinate code compliance activities; perform complex administrative and analytical duties; oversee processes, procedures and programs; and provide information and assistance regarding the Housing Program.  This position is overtime exempt and performs related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

Four years of increasingly responsible public agency or non-profit agency housing program experience, including one year of lead worker supervisory experience. Experience with development of market rate housing, affordable for­ sale and rental housing, financing, and rehabilitation programs is desirable.

Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in planning, public policy, public administration, government or business administration, economics, law, social work, urban studies or a related field.
