ROLE:

The Chief Financial Officer & Head of Capital Markets will be responsible for guiding the firms accounting, reporting and capital markets activities along with other important functions. As a member of the senior management team, this individual will help the firm continue to efficiently grow its investment programs as a sophisticated, trustworthy real estate sponsor for both private and institutional investment partners. Much more than just overseeing accounting functions, this executive will play a critical role in driving value through leading financing efforts, interfacing with and growing the investor base, and by providing key input in investment and fund management decisions.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Accounting & Compliance:

  • Overseeing and leading accounting team including the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for properties, funds and management company
  • Leading tax preparation, tax planning and audit compliance at both the property and fund levels
  • Monitoring and optimizing cash management through sophisticated forecasting and planning efforts
  • Ensuring proper fund compliance in coordination with general counsel

Investor Reporting:

  • Overseeing regular investor reporting efforts alongside asset management team to provide updates on financial and operational performance of portfolio companies and consolidated funds
  • Creating and enhancing reporting materials and methodologies to provide best-in-class deliverables that will meet the standards of discerning institutional stakeholders

Capital Markets:

  • Maintaining deep understanding of all investment and development efforts in order to anticipate, plan for and execute upon debt financing programs to optimize risk/return at asset and fund levels
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key sources of debt financing including banks, private lenders, debt funds and insurance companies as well as mortgage brokers
  • Leveraging relationship and network to source property-level acquisition, construction, bridge, permanent and refinance loans
  • Overseeing negotiation, lender underwriting and documentation of loans alongside inhouse and third-party counsel
  • Monitoring and reporting internally upon loan compliance
  • Working closely with senior management to cultivate investor relationships and serve as a liaison to investors to facilitate update reporting, subscription processes and other interactions

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, law, fund management, and/or capital markets with a meaningful tenure within the real estate industry
  • CPA credential preferred but not required
  • Fund accounting experience; familiarity with accounting systems including Yardi preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading other team members
  • Institutional reporting and compliance experience
  • Highly driven and comfortable working in fast-paced, growth environment

 

The position will be based at the company’s headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT. Compensation will be competitive and dependent upon experience.
