Lendlease’s New York Acquisitions Team is seeking to hire an Associate Acquisitions Manager to expand its dynamic team. With over $1.7B in development activity currently underway in New York, including over $20.3B in development across New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles, Lendlease is rapidly expanding its Urban Regeneration pipeline with significant long-term projects. The Associate Acquisitions Manager will play a critical role in the deal team to acquire both development sites and existing assets by leveraging Lendlease’s integrated model of in-house Development, Construction and Investments.

 

Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare sophisticated financial models for ground up development and existing asset acquisition opportunities with a focus on residential and commercial opportunities
  • Perform due diligence and market analysis on prospective real estate transactions.
  • Create internal/external presentations including investment memorandum, marketing packages and RFP responses,
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on potential acquisitions such as architects, cost planners, land use legal counsel and tax abatement counsel among others
  • Assist in the preparation of investment memos for regional and global investment committees.
  • Engage consultants and maintain a due diligence checklist and timeline consistent with transaction deadlines.
  • Support the Senior Acquisitions Manager by undertaking due diligence required for land acquisition including gathering market comps, zoning information, market/submarket research and demographic and economic data for new development.
  • Coordinate project closing with all project consultants, lender, seller, title company, and internal stakeholders.

 

General Background and Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Real Estate or Urban Planning. MS in Real Estate or MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 Years in a real estate transactional role
  • Understanding of NYC tax abatement and affordable housing programs
  • Excellent quantitative, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel, strong financial modeling skills.
