Position Overview

Job Description: The CFO reports directly to the President and manages the finance operations of the Company.  Primary responsibilities will be Company and project-level forecasting, managing project-level proformas and budgets, interacting with operational teams, as well as interacting with debt and equity partners.  The CFO will support the President in regular interaction with and reporting to the CEO, participate in strategic planning of Company operations and support underwriting analysis for new deals.  The position requires regular coordination and interaction with existing and potential debt and equity providers.  Additionally, the position requires regular coordination and interaction with the Accounting, Land Acquisitions, Development, Construction and Asset Management teams.  Must have the ability to develop and implement procedural improvements in financial internal control, operations, and reporting. 

 

Skills and Experience Requirements: 

  • BA in Finance or Accounting required; MBA preferred
  • Financial reporting/analysis experience required
  • Real estate experience required
  • Strong skills/experience with technology including forecasting tools and Microsoft Excel, with creating board/presentation materials
  • Also, strong skills/experience with forecasting and with communication with various departments and debt/equity providers

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with President in analyzing and closing Joint Venture Equity and Construction Debt Financing. This includes:
    • Developing project capitalization pitch books
    • Optimizing a project’s equity and debt structure
    • Preparing and coordinating due diligence analysis and materials
  • Project Proforma Model:  Finalizing underwriting for new deals and maintaining and updating project underwriting for existing deals. 
    • Financial forecasting and modeling
    • Analyzing the impact of updates to project profitability
    • Updating budget and scheduling changes
    • Coordinating project economic updates with functional departments
    • Reporting underwriting updates and analysis
    • Maintaining/updating the project proforma model
  • Forecast Company financial performance including detailed cash flow projections and full income statements.
  • Performing ad hoc financial analyses including sell/hold scenarios, profitability scenarios and sensitivity analysis
  • Support strategic decision making with quantitative analysis, as required
  • Other duties as required
