Chief Financial Officer

RealtyLink, LLC was founded in Greenville, South Carolina in 1998 and is a full-service real estate development company. Developments across the company include retail/NNN, residential, industrial, and entertainment projects.

The ideal candidate should have uncompromising integrity and have demonstrated success in the capital markets and management of the accounting/reporting of a company. In addition, the role of the Chief Financial Officer will be to provide planning and oversight of the financial activities of the company’s real estate investments. This role will additionally be responsible for the tax and financial risk management of the company.

 

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Accounting/Compliance
    • Oversee, direct, and ensure the timely preparation and submission of semi-annual and annual financial statements
    • Oversight of the accounting department including supervising the A/R and A/P process, monthly reconciliations, and month-end closing processes, amongst other daily functions
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for company projections
      • Oversee the company’s annual budgeting process
    • Monitoring and optimizing cash management through detailed forecasting and planning efforts
    • Responsible for the coordination and execution of the company’s annual audit
    • Assist in implementation of various modules of accounting software (Yardi) for internal process optimization
    • Develop and implement necessary financial risk management processes and procedures for company
    • Ensure necessary financial controls are in place for current and planned growth
    • Responsible for the oversight and preparation of debt and equity schedules, lender’s status reports, and the company’s finance schedule 
  • Human Resources
    • Oversee payroll functions including, but not limited to:
      • Process bi-weekly payroll and 401k remittance
      • Manage Workers Comp audit procedures
    • Annually update company handbook based on management team’s input
  • Tax
    • Coordinate with outside and internal accountants for the preparation of company tax returns on a timely basis
    • Assistance in corporate planning and structuring for optimization of tax treatment and company’s long-term investment objectives
    • Tax planning oversight and coordination
  • Capital Markets
    • Maintain a deep understanding of all investment and development efforts to anticipate and plan for future debt financing requirements
    • Optimize property-level and portfolio-level debt to execute on risk/return preferences
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key capital provides for debt financings across the company
    • Source property-level acquisition, construction, bridge, permanent, and refinance loans
    • Oversee negotiation, lender underwriting, and documentation negotiation of loans in coordination with in-house team and counsel
    • Responsible for identifying and addressing legal, tax, and general structuring issues for capital raises with principals
    • Participate in strategic planning with senior management to set financial goals as well as the company’s annual strategic agenda

 

Skills/Education:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA preferred  
  • 5+ years of direct real estate experience, prior experience with a REIT, RE Investment Bank, Asset Manager, Developer, or Private Equity required
  • 5-10 years in a senior management role/CFO position
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Familiarity with Yardi accounting systems
  • Institutional reporting experience preferred
  • Experience with complex deal structuring including unique financing methodologies
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills specifically related to financial analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with current and potential lenders both in-person and via email
  • Highly detail-oriented with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a high workload
