Overview
Our company is seeking an Asset Management Analyst / Senior Analyst, who will be involved with all facets of asset management operations and be responsible for portfolio management reporting, forecasting and analysis. The position will serve as support to the Asset Manager and be a liaison between the asset management and the acquisitions, legal and accounting groups as well as communicating with Borrowers and Third-Party Service Providers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis/modeling, including discounted cash flows, asset valuations, and cost benefit calculations. This includes pro-forma creation within Excel, strategic scenario analysis for sell/hold recommendations. Familiarity with Argus is a plus
- Preparation and maintenance of monthly asset management reports and consolidation and review of annual operating budgets on property and portfolio level
- Maintain accuracy of asset management database and portfolio metrics
- Conduct market and submarket analysis and reporting on rents, competition demographics, supply and demand drivers
- Assist in preparation of investor reporting, including quarterly updates and responding to specific investor requests
- Participate on regular portfolio-related conference calls
- Various analysis of accounting reporting, real estate taxes, risk management, property info. etc.
- Assistance with implementation of internal asset management system development/enhancements
Qualifications:
- 1-4 years post undergrad experience in financial modeling, preferably from an investment firm
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related from a top tier University with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be able to work well within a team and possess superb analytical, quantitative, problem solving, writing and communication skills
- Independent thinker, high level of initiative and strong work ethic. Ability to work well with little direction or as part of a collaborative team
- Strong grasp of financial principles and concepts that are crucial to underwriting real estate (IRR, NPV, cap rate, return on cost, Debt Yield, Debt Service Coverage etc.)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Flexible with a positive attitude and willingness to work additional hours and weekends to complete projects when necessary
- Expertise in Excel, Word, Yardi, Argus (recommended) and PowerPoint
