ROLE: The Director of Asset Management Multifamily: is responsible for executing property level strategies to enhance and protect asset value, meet investment objectives, and oversee assigned properties and/or portfolios. This person will focus on the company s growing Multifamily portfolio, which includes development, value-add, and stable investments. The position will interact extensively with company executives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provide operational oversight at the property level for multiple assets managed by third-party property managers.

  • Review, analyze and compare current and historical operational performance against key metrics and original underwriting for existing assets. Responsible for completion of the annual budget process with third party managers.
  • Monitor the performance of assets compared to the approved budget with primary responsibility for variance reporting.
  • Prepare weekly reports on property performance for internal purposes.
  • Understand competitive positioning relative to rents, lease terms and overall occupancy for the market/ sub-market where the investments are located.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly reports to external investors.
  • Frequently visit the properties to inspect buildings, implement and assess business plans, and interact with onsite managers/ teams to ensure high standards for leasing, property performance and property operations are understood and maintained.
  • Oversee the implementation of renovation projects.
  • Oversee the lease-ups of new developments.

Provide underwriting and due diligence assistance to the acquisition/development teams on potential new investments.

 

  • Assist in the acquisition activities for potential investments including reviewing third party reports, conducting site visits, conducting due diligence on acquisitions, formulating renovation and operating budgets, and providing input into underwriting assumptions.
  • Assist in the pre-development process including conducting feasibility analysis, site due diligence, project scoping, and providing input into underwriting assumptions.

Assist the founding principal responsible for the multifamily investments of the firm build-out an asset management platform.

  • Develop standard reporting systems and process.
  • Decide on key position hires as the portfolio grows.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong understanding of investment fundamentals and market analysis.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple team members.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor s Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business or related field.
  • Extensive understanding of real estate, with a proven track record of successful real estate transactions.
  • 10+ years of real estate industry work experience.
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis concepts.
  • Ability to travel and regularly work extended hours.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel)
  • Yardi and Real Page experience a plus.
