LEM Capital (“LEM”) is seeking a highly organized, level-headed and self-motivated candidate to become an integral member of the team as a Transaction Manager on the Investment Team.  Duties will include working closely with the acquisitions and asset management teams to ensure accurate and efficient coordination of transaction processing and closing. The Transaction Manager will be responsible for interfacing with multiple external and internal parties to ensure proper communication flow to meet critical deadlines for each transaction.  Must also be able to perform other duties and assignments to support multiple LEM Capital departments, as needed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary areas of focus include:

  • Coordinate the preparation and completion of closing documents associated with property acquisitions, refinances, and dispositions.
  • Familiarity with legal closing documents including Purchase and Sale Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Loan Documents and working with attorneys to facilitate closings.
  • Manage critical dates and timelines for transactions in closing.
  • Aggregate required signatures and notarizations and manage the information flow of various closing, financing and legal packages.
  • Independently and proactively move transactions forward using polite persistence to achieve results.
  • Accumulate necessary due diligence files and materials supporting the acquisitions team through the underwriting and closing process.
  • Support Asset Management in monitoring and administering the portfolio’s master insurance program.
  • Assist Investor Relations in organizing and maintaining subscription documents, investor closing process, transfers and ongoing legal documentation.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 -10+ years of professional experience.
  • Previous experience in the commercial real estate sector, a legal environment or lending environment preferred; title/escrow work a plus.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the organization and with external parties.
  • Basic knowledge of commercial real estate vocabulary, principles, and processes.
  • Works with discretion and tact in an environment with a high level of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Ability to prioritize and work autonomously under tight time constraints with varying priorities of multiple transactions.
  • A high degree of professionalism and strong work ethic coupled with a sense of responsibility and integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable making connections quickly with people at all levels, disciplines, and backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Ability to grow within the role and take on increased responsibilities. 
  • Position is based in Philadelphia, PA.
