Position: Vice President of Land Acquisition
Location: South Florida or Central Florida

POSITION SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a Vice President of Land Acquisition to take initiative in the acquisition of land to develop multifamily deals in the Florida market. The successful candidate will collaborate with executive leadership to take a leading role in the land acquisition effort.
• Experience in managing land acquisitions from identification through to execution, as a principal or a broker
• Establish a network of colleagues, brokers and sellers able to bring build to rent acquisition opportunities
• Educate third party stakeholders (municipalities, brokers, land sellers etc.) regarding our platform
• Understand residential, commercial and multi-family municipal zoning ordinances and apply as appropriate to achieve entitlement approvals
• Identify, control and purchase properties necessary to achieve established forecasts and financial objectives
• Write letters of intent, negotiate land purchase contracts and review with outside counsel
• Meet with engineers, planners and government agencies to ensure proper execution of medium/high-density site plans
• Review and manage due diligence materials through feasibility periods for land acquisitions
• Review subdivision development agreements, environmental reports and soils studies as needed
• Generate financial proforma model projections for proposed communities
• Keep abreast of local market land transactions for multi-family communities
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Utilize geographic market study data to identify submarkets based on our target consumers and their preference
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of five years of experience in land acquisitions
• Proven success in negotiating and acquiring land, while navigating through the unique obstacles inherent in the Florida/Southeast market
• A history showing the ability to manage large-scale building projects or land portfolios, preferably in residential development
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate Development or related field of study
• Expertise in entitlement processes, title, survey, and environmental review, and closing real estate transactions
• Success leading teams of real estate professionals, lawyers, or brokers. Encourages both external and internal teamwork and collaboration
• Aggressive, forward-thinking professional in land acquisition and real estate development
