Greystar has an opportunity for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our GDIG Owned Asset team in the West Coast. This role can sit near any of our regional offices located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, Phoenix, Denver, Portland, or Seattle.

 

Summary

Supports the strategic and daily management of the financial performance and operation of the assigned area by gathering and analyzing financial data and reports against budgets and key financial benchmarks, interpreting trends, forecasts, and financial results, and developing recommendations for optimum financial performance.

 

What your day might look like

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and create equity and financing packages summarizing the highlights, requirements, market information, and other financial data for corporate decisions.
  • May oversee rent-levels and occupancy figures by performing analysis of rent appropriateness to determine if “specials” or other perks are necessary to improve financial levels, acts as liaison between corporate and property management, oversees property expenses, and submit invoices for loan draws as necessary.
  • Completes and prepares rolling 5-year strategic plan, coordinates underwriting process for large and opportunistic transactions, and oversees investment and co-investment programs.
  • Prepares and reviews budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents and researches and resolves discrepancies as necessary.
  • Performs market surveys for due diligence by preparing metrics, comparing and analyzing data, and finalizing roll-ups for audits.
  • Completes various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.

 

What we are looking for

  • Prior experience in the Multifamily or Real Estate industry required.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to develop, comprehend, and complete legal, financial, human resources, and other business documents and to provide updates and reports to owners and key business leaders.
  • Expert-level proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet (Excel), and database management programs in order to complete, design, and develop required reports and documents. Experience in Timberline and other Company software applications related to budgeting and overall project management.
  • Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percents in order to complete financial records, budgets, and other fiscal reporting information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills in order to establish, cultivate, and maintain productive relationships with brokers, institutional and equity partners, owners, lenders, and the variety of potential clients with whom Greystar does business.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and project management skills in order to effectively track, report, and manage multiple projects and priorities where meeting deadlines is critical.
