Overview:
Manage the Company’s corporate, property and ownership entity accounting functions including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules. Provide business management tools and reports for managers throughout the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise or perform all activities related to the corporate accounting function, including timely and accurate financial reporting including financial statements and reporting package, financial analysis, budgets, tax returns, and audits
- Supervise or perform all activities related to the investment entity accounting function, including timely and accurate financial reporting including financial statements, financial analysis, budgets, tax returns, and audits
- Account for all significant transactions (e.g., acquisitions, dispositions, and financings) on an expedited basis to comply with external reporting deadlines; will require knowledge of related documentation and maintaining knowledge surrounding the transaction itself
- Prepare the company’s annual operating budgets and mid-year forecast(s) including preparation for fees, insurance, supervision, and obtaining information from department heads as needed. Provide requested information and analysis; maintain full working knowledge of the process and reports, keeping all providers on schedule
- Oversee all internal and external reporting deadlines and commitments; prepare abstracts from legal documents to assist with effective monitoring; enhance/maintain relationships with partners’ accounting/finance team
- Manage month end and year end closing process, financial statement preparation, account analysis and reconciliations, ensuring consistency with GAAP, modified GAAP and tax reporting
- Review investment entity capital calls
- Oversee the company’s treasury management systems and processes, including online banking, wire transfers, bank reconciliations
- Assist Controller and CFO overseeing financial operations including maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures and controls
- Supervise supporting staff; provide guidance and assistance so that they may complete all duties and tasks in a timely and accurate manner; manage workflow and progress of corporate / property accounting staff to ensure all month end close processes and procedures have been completed
- Develop and implement training programs for supporting staff to facilitate completion of departmental goals and tasks
- Maintain the integrity of the accounting software by performing / oversee regular maintenance and reconciliations; implement new software as needed; train all department employees
- Improve department productivity by working with supporting staff and other Company employees to automate general ledger posting tasks, including credit card and payroll processing
- Assist with special projects, including providing management with special reports, as requested

Skills Required:
- 5-8 years’ experience, construction and/or real estate experience required
- CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Timberline/Sage 300 experience strongly preferred
- Expert in Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Strong management skills
