Sales Originator Job Description: 

 

Meridian Capital Group LLC(“Meridian”) is a leading provider of commercial real estate and capital market services to the U.S. commercial real estate industry. Meridian operates nationally and offers clients a fully integrated capital markets platform including debt placement, advisory services, structured finance, and private equity. Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Canvass public records, various databases, and Meridian prepared lead lists to identify targets and opportunities
  • Make 25 targeted sales calls per day. Targeted calls should be to active owners and developers of commercial real estate that transact at least 2-3 times per year with average loan size greater than $25,000,000
  • Prepare marketing materials for all pitches and meetings. Create case studies for closed transactions and market these to existing / futures customers
  • Maintain contact with customer after loan closing. Constantly monitor customer’s portfolio for other opportunities
  • Follow up with prospects and clients regularly and offer market updates to build good will

 

 

Education and Experience:  

  • Minimum 2 years of origination or underwriting experience in the commercial real estate industry. Some level of knowledge of various lender types including Banks, Debt Funds, CMBS, Insurance and Agency Lenders.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, as well as strong previous experience in sales either in person or over the phone, ideally with emphasis in the financial/insurance or Real Estate
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, client relationship, quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills; able to interface with top level executives
  • Strong computer skills with an advanced working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and strong time management skills
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Although Meridian’s headquarters is based in NYC, this role has the flexibility to work from home remotely (East Coast time zone)
