Position Summary:

The Finance Associate provides critical management and support for all aspects of finance  for multifamily real estate developments within assigned geographic region. Working with local development teams, business partners, lenders and corporate accounting teams, you will be responsible for coordinating and tracking multifamily development projects and driving efficiencies with the goal of pushing projects through to timely closing and completion.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of multifamily real estate transactions, including land closings, loan closings, and joint venture agreements.
  • Provide coordination among local development teams, investors, and lenders to facilitate the closings of land, loan, and joint venture for multifamily transactions.  
  • Provide support for all aspects of financing processes for multifamily development projects.
  • Analyze debt and equity capital structures for multifamily developments.
  • Assist with joint venture and loan document negotiations for multifamily developments.
  • Research and track market data, including trends for major markets within assigned division.
  • Review and provide recommendations regarding monthly lender draw request for investments.
  • Optimize joint venture partner and banking relationships; develop and initiate strategies for improvement.
  • Learn and deploy understanding of all facets of Alliance’s internal structure, joint venture structure, and loan document risk tolerance.
  • Work to optimize internal underwriting models and structure analysis models as needed.
  • Analyze property financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Issues regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
  • Identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities.
  • Any other duties assigned or directed.

  • Ability to work a schedule during normal work hours and that may be other than Monday-Friday, 8-5. Work in excess of 40 hours per week is likely.
  • Consistent, regular and in person attendance during regular working hours at the workplace is required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION:

 Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field

 Preferred:

  • Two to three years’ experience working in Finance, Business or a related field
  • Prior experience in the multifamily real estate development industry
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field
