POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Investment Officer/ Chief Financial Officer of Lloyd Jones will be a dynamic leader within the organization with financial and investment oversight over all four verticals: Investments, Development, Multifamily Management, and Senior Housing Management. The CIO/CFO will leverage her/his financial acumen and professional experience to serve as the right-hand executive to CEO Chris Finlay in all matters related to the firm. The CIO/CFO will develop and lead an industry-best executive team to execute on each vertical and play a key role in attracting and retaining talented professionals to serve across the organization. She/He will provide guidance on developing and implementing strategic initiatives as well as their potential impact on the business. The CIO/CFO will play a key role in developing and maintaining key external relationships including financial institutions, brokers, owners, and investors. The CIO/CFO will provide risk management oversight of current assets and develop strategies to help grow both the assets of the firm and the financial position of ownership including tax-related strategies. The CIO/CFO will be expected to bring insight and leadership to improve overall financial management and support existing businesses as well as new growth initiatives. She/He will demonstrate sound business judgment in devising solutions to improve operational and financial processes, serving as a decisive voice, and being able to lead the team to ensure flawless execution. The CIO/CFO will drive forward the company’s culture.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the leadership of the CEO, act as the day-to-day lead executive across the entire Lloyd Jones investment and finance departments.
- Direct and active engagement on all key transactions, particularly in deal structuring, closing of acquisitions, recapitalization, and dispositions of all real estate investments.
- Oversee and support each Senior Vice President from each real estate vertical (Senior Living, Multifamily, and Development) on the execution of short-term and long-term business goals.
- Lead and implement strategic incentives to increase the portfolio revenues and returns for our internal and external stakeholders.
- Understand and work within a multi-faceted real estate platform to provide leadership and create a cohesive team that will not only execute within an assigned vertical but collaborates to ensure the success of the other verticals and the organization as a whole.
- Develop goals and track related metrics to achieve the overall firm vision and to continuously push the organization to grow and be on the leading edge of industry practices.
- Take primary responsibility and ownership of ensuring all activities of the firm are executed to the highest standards by providing leadership, project management expertise, and a hands-on approach as needed.
- Direct and actively engage in all key transactions, particularly in deal structuring, the closing of acquisitions and dispositions, and financing of real estate investments.
- Provide strong financial and investment-related insight and leadership to all levels of the organization.
- Analyze economic, business, and financial conditions in the marketplace to ascertain their impact on the firm’s operations and financial position and respond with action as needed.
- Lead the executive leadership team in developing and executing short-term and long-term financial objectives for each department.
TARGET PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
- Experience as a Chief Financial Officer of Chief Investment Officer for a high-growth real estate platform; minimum of 5 years in an executive-level leadership role.
- Significant knowledge of the multifamily and/or senior living industry.
- Demonstrated ability to grow and lead high-performance professionals.
- Ability to understand and negotiate complex equity and financing deal structures.
- Experience acting as a forward-facing executive with financial institutions and private equity investors.
- Quantitative methods in understanding investment performance.
- Disposition to travel and attend relevant conferences and external events.
- Proven business and financial acumen used in giving valuable advisement on organizational issues and real estate investments.
- Success in mentoring and enhancing high-performance teams with the ability to handle various personality styles.
- Provide strategic advice, creative solutions, and solve problems.
- Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, business management or related field
- CPA and/or master’s degree desired.
