Analyst, Asset & Portfolio Management – Multifamily & Self-Storage


Job Description


Banner Real Estate Group is seeking an Analyst to assist with asset management, portfolio management, investor relations, and corporate-level business functions. 

The individual selected for this role will be part of a tight knit team and will learn through direct exposure to all facets and components of what is required in the day-to-day oversight of operating real estate assets. The Analyst will benefit from direct exposure and interaction with senior management, investment committee members, and external partners.


Responsibilities

Your day will include the following:

  • Work with the Asset Manager, Chief Investment Officer – Acquisitions, Chief Investment Officer – Development, and CEO to support Banner’s operational, asset management, capital markets, investor relations, and corporate activities.
  • Provide analytical support of Banner’s multifamily and self-storage assets.
  • Research and analyze regional geographic markets and industry data
  • Assist in maintaining, updating, and improving financial models including asset management models, hold/sell/refinance models, and corporate liquidity models.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze operating data to support executive management’s day-to-day decision making and strategic planning.
  • Provide analytical and transaction support for acquisitions, financings, and dispositions
  • Support Banner’s CEO in producing monthly/quarterly/annual reporting packages to the Board of Directors.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly investor reporting.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in real estate, finance, economics, accounting, or similar discipline, have between 1-3 years of related professional experience with a preference towards direct real estate experience, and possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Overall conceptual and theoretical understanding of the real estate investment cycle.
  • Ability to perform complex cash flow analyses & forecasts, understanding of how various capital structures impact the economics of a project, and familiarity with waterfall modeling.
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on the ability to communicate thoughts, opinions, and findings clearly and succinctly to various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, managing priorities in a deadline driven environment.
  • Comfortable working independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Takes pride in producing high quality and accurate work.
  • Self-motivated and proactive problem solver.
  • Professional maturity and exercise of appropriate judgement in the handling of confidential matters.
