Position Title:             Associate / Sr. Analyst

Location:                    Los Angeles Headquarters

Position Reports to:  VP of Acquisitions

 

JOB SUMMARY:
Stockdale Capital Partners is seeking an Associate / Sr. Analyst to support the continue growth of its West LA office. The firm invests capital via its discretionary fund vehicles with a primary focus on opportunistic and value-add strategies.

The Associate/Sr. Analyst plays an important role in supporting the evaluation and execution of acquisitions and developments alongside senior management. This involves all aspects of the real estate investment process including financial analysis, market research, due diligence, financing, business plan development, and closing.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (in business, real estate, finance, or related field) with at least 3 years Finance/Real Estate experience
Training & Experience:
  • 1-4 years of work experience in either a transaction-oriented real estate role (private equity, acquisitions, development, structured finance, investment sales) or advanced financial role (investment banking, management consulting, Big 4 accounting)
  • Basic knowledge of real estate finance, valuation, and capital markets
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the market dynamics and real estate values in a given property type/region helpful
  • Experience in conceptualizing and executing value-add/development strategies helpful
Technology:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Argus (real estate transactions modeling software)
Licenses, Certifications & Special Requirements:

Travel:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Build and maintain detailed financial models utilizing Excel and Argus for potential acquisition and development projects that incorporate various scenarios and sensitivity analyses
  2. Assist in negotiations with lenders and investors through the analysis of various capital structures and cash flow distribution waterfalls
  3. Perform in-depth research of markets, comps, and development sites
  4. Review offering memorandums, tour properties, and interface with brokers
  5. Prepare presentations and materials for the investment committee, investors, and lenders
  6. Manage due diligence, including the analysis and review of market data, financial statements, development budgets, 3rd party reports, and legal documentation
  7. Coordinate closings of transactions and correspondence between internal departments and external parties
  8. Support asset management activities, including repositioning strategies, refinancing, and dispositions
 
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
  1. Interacting with senior management, company peers, and outside consultants & subcontractors in a cohesive positive manner
  2. Attends development meetings and training as required
  3. Any other duties as assigned by Managing Partners which are necessary for the continued operation of the company
  4. Represents the company at public events and builds goodwill for the Company
