Job description

A well-established multifamily real estate investment firm is seeking an Analyst to work in all aspects of its acquisitions and asset management activities. Individual will report to the Senior Associate and Chairman/Founder.

 

Job Requirements:

 

Acquisitions

  • Provide support to new acquisition underwriting and transition; assist senior team members to identify, analyze, and present new/unique real estate investment opportunities
  • Build and maintain comprehensive pro-forma acquisition and waterfall models relating to new acquisitions
  • Perform in-depth market research including rental comps, sale comps, and economic/demographic trends
  • Perform asset specific due diligence including property conditions and environmental assessment, title/zoning matters, leases, preparation of financial projections, assessment of ownership structure
  • Manage transaction diligence and closing process including seller/broker communications, data room, and internal checklists
  • Interface with brokers, lenders, operating partners and other third parties
  • Compile internal and external pitch documents

 

Asset Management

  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports of property-level operating metrics
  • Participate in weekly asset management calls with property operating teams
  • Build and maintain comprehensive financial reporting, portfolio analysis, and waterfall models deliverable to management; analyze property-level monthly revenue and expense variances, along with key operating metrics
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reviews of properties to management and ownership
  • Work with management and ownership to develop and implement annual asset plans and strategies; participate in formation and oversight of annual property-level budgets
  • Communicate with brokers, lenders, operating partners and other third parties; coordinate with vendors, consultants, and other third-party contractors, as needed
  • Undertake property inspections to monitor asset performance, capital expenditures, and management execution
  • Ensure the physical appearance of properties meet ownership’s established standards
  • Provide support and oversight for property dispositions

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree - real estate, finance or business degree preferred
  • Understanding of financial statements
  • Intellectually curious, self-motivated, team player, responsible and accountable, very strong communication skills
  • Highest levels of honesty and integrity
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • 1-2 years successful real estate brokerage, real estate investment, or other relevant financial services experience preferred
  • Travel approximately 2-4 days monthly
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills
