JOB SUMMARY
Perform interior preparation, painting, touch-up, and finishing of areas in need of commercial-level painting. Working under close supervision, utilize several trade skills such as patching, painting, and finishing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Use necessary tools and equipment to complete duties related to application of varnish, polyurethane, primer paint, and other specialty coatings.
Repair and remodel imperfections; mask, prepare, and protect surfaces in order to ensure facilities are properly maintained.
Responsible for loading, unloading, preparing and cleaning job sites, materials, and tools.
Clean and maintain equipment by removing all traces of used materials in order to sustain a safe and hazard-free.
Other Duties as Assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/GED required.
2-4 years of experience in commercial painting, required.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
None required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Advanced knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.
Knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.
Uses personal computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training. Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook.
Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.

The minimum salary for the Maintenance Technician position is $40,700.00 annually and the maximum salary for the Maintenance Technician position is $67,900.00 annually.
