The Dermot Company, a New York City-based multifamily real estate company is seeking a full-time Associate to perform acquisition and asset management duties. The position will cover the full real estate investment life cycle, including capital raising, property acquisitions, financings, asset management, property operations, and dispositions. The Associate’s duties will include financial analysis, underwriting, and due diligence, project administration, liaising with property management teams, and investor reporting.
 
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in real estate or finance. This job is located in Midtown Manhattan.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
 
Some of the things you’ll be working on include:
 
  • Performing complex financial analyses
  • Underwriting and assessing market opportunities
  • Preparing and summarizing market and portfolio data
  • Preparing investment memos and quarterly portfolio performance presentations 
  • Managing existing assets and operating performance
  • Managing due diligence process on new investment opportunities 
  • Evaluating and implementing property technology solutions
  • Analyzing leasing trends and performance metrics
  • Playing a key role in property budgeting process
  • Participating in creating portfolio wide processes and procedures related to property management, sustainability and corporate initiatives
  • Providing operational and analytical support to property management, marketing, and leasing agent personnel based upon the strategic plan with respect to each property.
 
Location and other requirements
  • This is an onsite position in Manhattan, New York
  • This position requires regular collaboration with others using technology and other communication tools in person and virtually. 
 
ABOUT YOU
 
Your professional track record, knowledge and skills include:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience in real estate or finance
  • A strong work ethic and highly motivated
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Strong writing skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Project planning and self-management skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently balancing multiple projects

Our compensation and benefits package include a competitive salary, commensurate with experience with bonus potential, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision, paid time off, retirement with match when eligible and a flexible hybrid environment. The annualized gross base range for this position is $95,000-115,000. The actual compensation within the range will be based on factors unique to each candidate including years and depth of experience.
