National Housing Preservation Advisors, LLC has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, persistent, persuasive and intelligent Acquisitions Intern to join our Auburn, Alabama-based Development Team.

Applicants with an interest in real estate have an opportunity to join a highly entrepreneurial real estate development firm and grow individually as the company grows professionally. The Acquisitions Intern will have direct participation in the multifamily acquisition and development process, working closely with the firm’s leadership. The position will allow for rapid expansion of industry knowledge and contacts, financial structuring ability, development skills and overall business acumen.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The primary responsibility of the Acquisitions Intern is to originate new acquisition opportunities nationally. The firm has an existing database of owners and the Acquisitions Intern will have primary responsibility for cold calling these owners, quickly building rapport and respect, with the end goal of getting them to send us property specific information that we can use to value and ultimately acquire their property.

Required Experience:

• Experience cold calling and tracking results in a comprehensive database
• Basic knowledge of real estate and underwriting
• Willing to learn and quickly comprehend affordable housing background and industry jargon

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Someone who has worked previously with a commercial real estate broker and has experience cold calling (experience making 30 - 50+ cold calls daily – with a track record of success)
• A self-starter who can immediately add value to the organization and is eager to contribute
• Someone with excellent oral and written communication skills, abundant energy, a charismatic personality and an extraordinary work ethic
• An individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A college graduate with a focus / interest in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Communications or related field

COMPENSATION

The Acquisitions Intern position is a part-time (up to 30 hours/week), hourly position that will receive a wage of $15.00/hr and will work remotely. There will be significant bonus opportunities based on the individual’s ability to: 1) generate acquisition leads, and 2) identity multifamily opportunities that we ultimately acquire.
