Riverside Capital, LLC/The Michaels Organization has a full time newly created position for a Vice President, Originations.  Riverside Capital's home office is in Marlton, NJ however the job location for this position is flexible.

Riverside Capital, LLC is a privately held full-service tax credit syndicator with a national footprint whose mission is to provide investment capital and asset management services for high quality affordable housing developments. Riverside is a joint venture between The Michaels Organization and Berkadia and has been raising and placing tax equity on developments across the country for more than 10 years. In the past 2 years, Riverside has raised and placed more than $300 MM in tax credit equity.

The Vice President, Originations will originate, negotiate, and structure tax credit investments that are consistent with Riverside’s objectives and investor/lender demand. This person will identify potential complex LIHTC issues and negotiate business terms with the clients.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

Work closely with Underwriting, Investor Relations, Asset Management, Fund Management, Accounting, and senior leadership in signing up new business.

Develop proficiency in telling the Riverside/Berkadia/TMO “story”

Promote the Riverside brand through online and in person efforts

Attend industry conferences (national, regional, and state) and other networking events throughout the year

Increase knowledge on complex real estate underwriting, tax and LIHTC requirements.

Maintain and establish relationships with tax credit developers, investors, lenders, attorneys, accountants and consultants through frequent communication and in person meetings.

Maintain working knowledge of Riverside’s tax credit model, Riverside’s underwriting policies and procedures, and Riverside’s upper tier  model. 


Required Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in real estate, including LIHTC investments or private equity funds.

Previous experience originating business in the real estate or real estate finance industry.


Required Education/Training:

Bachelor’s degree required; higher degree (MBA, Master’s) in a business-related or finance field of study strongly preferred.

Working Conditions:

Flexibility to travel (approximately 30%) and work extra hours, as needed
