Position Description

We are currently seeking a Summer Associate to join our Development and Investments (“D&I”) team in Boca Raton, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated self-starter possessing a passion for real estate, strong financial skills, business acumen and leadership potential.  The intern will gain valuable real world financial and modeling experience by supporting the current D&I team in analyzing multiple commercial real estate acquisition and development opportunities in office, industrial and retail product types across the Southeastern US.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop real estate financial modeling and analysis using Argus software and MS Excel.
  • Assist in the analysis and review offering materials, leases, operating statements, development budgets, equity and debt term sheets, third party due diligence reports, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of investment committee memos, equity/debt packages, presentations and reports.
  • Acquire key property and market information by gathering information from deal leads, brokers, property managers, etc.   
  • Gather, organize, and present demographic, economic, and real estate market research.
  • Learn the investment process, including underwriting, capitalization, due diligence, and closing.
  • Provide assistance on special projects and complete other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience Requested:

  • Undergraduate or graduate student with emphasis in real estate or finance preferred and expected graduation date within 2 semesters of internship completion.
  • Prior work or internship experience in finance, investments and/or real estate preferred.
  • Strong desire to have a long-term career in commercial real estate.
  • Proficiency in Argus and Excel to conduct real estate financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with managers, customers, clients, and third-party consultants.
  • Effective time manager –Ability to consistently manage multiple projects with accuracy and zero missed deadlines.
  • Extremely high energy; fast-paced and driven to succeed. 
  • Keen ability to work efficiently autonomously or as a member of a team.
