We are looking for a unique person for a unique opportunity. You will need to possess many skill sets and an interest in developing others in order to be successful in this position.  Monarch Investment and Management Group, recently entering the top 23 multifamily owners in the country, a Top 2017 Workplace is a hands-on, fully-integrated multifamily real estate company located just south of Denver in Franktown, Colorado. 

Monarch is looking for a Senior Analyst to work with an Asset Manager in all stages of the multifamily investment life cycle. You will assist in identifying, underwriting, and closing of potential acquisition opportunities, as well as oversee operational analysis efforts of an existing multi-state portfolio of properties.  

This position will also be integral in assisting in the completion of a wide range of capital projects.  The analyst will be located in our corporate office in Franktown, Colorado and will report to an Asset Manager. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as an analyst in the multifamily sector both in an operations and acquisition role.  This position will provide candidates with the opportunity to learn all aspects of the acquisition and asset management process.

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

Acquisitions, Finance and Dispositions

  • Prepare financial models and underwrite potential investments;
  • Visit properties to evaluate investment potential and assist in identifying and mitigating potential risks to the investment;
  • Assist in acquisitions, due diligence, financing, closing, refinancing and disposition efforts as needed;
  • Conduct market research and market rent surveys and other competitive business intelligence;
  • Respond to the requests of lenders and equity partners throughout the acquisition process;
  • Prepare and present summary analysis in support of recommended strategies which includes repositioning;
  • Prepare comprehensive investment packages.

Operations

  • Analyze operations & trends of existing properties to look for cost-savings and revenue growth opportunities;
  • Evaluate cost effectiveness of existing and contracts;
  • Visit sites to identify operational deficiencies and recommend strategies to correct;
  • Work closely with Asset manager, property staff and others to input, analyze and report on financial performance compared to original underwriting and budget;
  • Complete “Special Projects” assignments;
  • Assist in Quarterly Report process.
  • Assist in retail space leasing strategy in select properties.
  • Learn the functions of all site and regional personnel, to include management, leasing and maintenance.

Capital Projects

  • Strategize, oversee and report on capital improvement projects.
  • Track and manage project budgets, schedules and milestones associated with all capital improvements/replacements/repairs
  • Assist in compiling and processing construction and capital replacement reserve draws

 

Qualifications:

  • College Degree preferably in Real Estate, Finance or Construction Management
  • Experience in the commercial real estate industry
  • Onsite property operations experience a plus
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast paced environment across all levels of an organization
  • Travel required approximately 25% or more of the time.
  • Must have strong computer skills and thorough knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of multi-family real estate operations, including property management; marketing and leasing; budgeting; capital needs planning; property repositioning, etc.
