Research Internship

Interns are an important part of what makes HFF a great place to work. Within our program, interns are an integral part of our team working alongside HFF real estate analysts, transaction professionals and other associates. You will gain valuable insight into HFF and the commercial real estate industry while being exposed to multiple HFF lines of business over the course of your internship.

Job Summary

This position will provide assistance to our analysts and producers by doing research, writing, and analyzing market information for our annual economic overview.

Main Responsibilities

• Researching recent economic, social, and political events in the Indianapolis market
• Preparing and writing market research.
• Obtaining and analyzing market information and statistics.
• Composing the core information and text for the annual economic overview.
• Assist in layout and design of the economic overview.
• Work with analysts and producers to find topics and stories relevant to the commercial real estate industry.
• Draft and edit market summary reports for inclusion in the overview.
• Present final research project and summary to the office.

Experience Required

• Strong research and writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
• Ability to interact with internal and external clients professionally in a fast paced, high-energy environment.
• Ability to be an independent worker with a team player attitude.
• Strong interest in financial/business journalism.

Education

• Must have completed at least 2 years of college.

Computer Skills

• Intermediate working knowledge of Word and Excel (Office 2010 version).
• Familiarity with, PowerPoint, Adobe, InDesign, and Photoshop a plus.

Environment

• Office – work with computers, copiers, and scanners.
