JOB SUMMARY

 

Responsible for a variety of basic accounting activities relating to the AP, AR, invoicing and reporting.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Performs a variety of routine accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures, such as general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger or other related accounting area.

 

Processing Intercompany Receivables/Payables in compliance with Intercompany process.

 

Manage and review A/P vouchers and supporting documentation with data entry including completion of vendor set up applications.

 

Compiles manual Excel Invoices and work closely with the accountants to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.

 

Reviews transactionsfrom subsystem to ensure data accurately passed throughthe various sub ledgers.

 

Assists with various monthly and quarterly management reports.

 

Analyzes accounting variancesand prepares monthly variance analysisreports.

 

Prepares and loads journal entries.

 

Prepares Balance Sheet reconciliations.

 

Provides support to others on an as-needed basis.

 

Prepare working papers for internal and external audit.

 

Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-3 years of experience in a general accounting or entry level accountant position. Knowledge of Payroll an asset.

  

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.  Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and interact effectively with management, employees, and auditors. Must have the ability to convey financial issues to non-financial users. Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports.

 

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations. Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis. Follows accounting practices to ensure optimum client satisfaction while guaranteeing CBRE financial interests are protected.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires highly analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to follow instructions.

 

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (excellent Excel skills). Experience with automated accounting and financial management systems; experience with PeopleSoft is an asset.
