Chief Financial Officer - Alternative Investment Manager

Systima Capital Management is a Chicago-based Registered Investment Adviser and alternative asset manager focused on opportunistic credit investments in mortgage and real estate markets. Systima currently manages a Separate Account for a $23 billion pension plan, two Fund vehicles and is embarking on the closing of a $300 million co-mingled investment fund. Role and Key Responsibilities

Become member of executive leadership team of entrepreneurial and growing alternative investment manager. Manage and own all finance, back office, compliance, and reporting functions of the firm.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide strategic business and financial management advice and manage firm profitability and growth
• Develop and maintain robust best practices regarding back office, finance and compliance infrastructure
• Manage all aspects of the Firm’s finance operations including financial audits
• Serve as the primary point of contact and manage relationships with service providers including accountants/auditors, attorneys, fund administrators, and custodians
• Act as Chief Compliance Officer of the firm, enforce internal compliance policies, maintain and update compliance manual, and conduct periodic training and annual audits
• Deliver accurate and timely financial statements, tax return filings and reporting to investors and firm principals
• Ensure full compliance with SEC RIA guidelines
• Ensure compliance with tax and corporate governance obligations
• Prepare month-end reporting packages, NAV reconciliations, Investor Allocations and Statements
• Review management fee and carried interest calculations for various LP’s. These include reading and interpreting partnership documents and provisions.

Work Experience and Qualifications

• CFO or Controller experience with private equity, real estate or hedge fund preferred
• Senior level experience working in finance and compliance at an institutional investment manager catering to pension, endowment, foundation, family office clients
• Senior level experience at Big 4 accounting firm serving alternative investment managers
• CPA
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Intellectually curious with strong communication skills
• Self-motivated team player who can multi-task
• At least 8 years of experience in related roles
