Summary:
Cedar has an immediate opening for a full-time Lease Administrator. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of lease administration including, but not limited to, lease abstraction, review of existing and new leases to ensure accuracy with monthly billings, percentage rent, CPI rent escalations, and tracking/monitoring critical lease dates.
Specific Responsibilities:
Cedar has an immediate opening for a full-time Lease Administrator. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of lease administration including, but not limited to, lease abstraction, review of existing and new leases to ensure accuracy with monthly billings, percentage rent, CPI rent escalations, and tracking/monitoring critical lease dates.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Review and enter all new leases, amendments, and other lease documentation into the company’s lease management MRI software
- Monitor time sensitive deadlines relative to new leases, amendments, renewals, notices and other documentation
- Review and analyze existing lease documents for critical lease terms, dates and resolution of lease compliance issues
- Coordinate and follow up with the Asset Managers for verification of building and suite SF, suite changes, move-in/out forms, holdover, major tenant information, and other portfolio issues
- Collaborate with the Construction Managers to ensure critical lease dates are met and rent is generated timely
- Generate rent commencement letters and resolve Tenant disputes and issues concerning rent
- Perform administrative duties, including filing, creating and maintaining lease files, in addition to updating/preparing reports for Lease Administration
- Work closely with internal departments, such as Accounting, Asset Management, Legal and Construction.
- Handle special projects as needed
- Associates Degree or Paralegal Certification required, with at least 3 years of commercial real estate experience in lease administration, real estate accounting or property management
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of MRI Software preferred
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Must be detail oriented and organized, be able to multi-task, prioritize workload effectively, quickly and accurately and process high volumes of data
- Must have strong ability to interpret complex commercial lease language and related real estate documentation and have general property accounting knowledge
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
