Join Fidelity Real Estate s Operations and Engineering team and play a key role in the safe, continuous operation of Fidelity Real Estate. As VP of Engineering, you will oversee engineering design, operation, maintenance, repair and quality control of our data centers and office environments.
The Team
Fidelity Real Estate Company (FREC) is the corporate real estate division of Fidelity Investments, providing a full range of services to Fidelity business units nationally and internationally. The mission of the Engineering department in FREC is to provide maximum availability of Fidelity s critical business processes and office environments by focusing on the design, delivery, operation and maintenance of building infrastructure systems.
The Expertise You Have
  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering specialty is required
  • Graduate degree in Engineering, Real Estate, Finance or MBA is strongly preferred
  • Professional Engineer license in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in the design and operation of critical room infrastructure, with increasing responsibility in terms of job scope and staff management responsibility. Experience must include previous position(s) leading the development and implementation of engineering strategy for a business. Experience in financial services industry a plus but not required. Experience working in data center environments a strong plus
  • Ability to convey highly technical concepts and problems to non-technical managers and to translate the requirements of non-technical managers to professional engineers in a manner that ensures that requirements are met

  • Managing all engineering functions at Fidelity s Enterprise Data Centers: maintenance, repairs, systems modifications and computer room alterations which affect the end-to-end reliability of the Data Center on a 24 x 365 basis, including strategy for their construction, expansion and disposition
  • Providing technical support and expertise to critical infrastructure operations and regional operations by developing and maintaining a quality assurance/quality control program for operations and maintenance services provided by outsourced Integrated Facility Management providers
  • Developing and communicating Fidelity s infrastructure standards to internal engineering teams and third-party engineering partners
  • Increasing the effectiveness of Fidelity s energy management program, as well as other sustainability initiatives
  • Directing audit, compliance and training programs to produce engineering operational excellence as well as ensuring that third-party facility engineers are performing to Fidelity standards
Recruiting, managing, developing and directing a professional staff of individual contributors and managers (as may be required) that comprises the Engineering Services & Data Center Engineering staff).
