The Investment Analyst works with the Executive Vice President and the Vice President of Acquisitions & Asset Management, as well as their respective teams to support departmental activities assigned including market and demographic research, presentation materials, due diligence, initial ProFormas, RFP reviews and Buckingham Fund documentation. The Investment Analyst acts as a liaison between preconstruction, development, finance, legal and property management for assigned projects. Additionally, the Investment Analyst initiates relationships with local area brokers to gain insight into development pursuit opportunities. Requirements Training/Education
  • College degree in Business, Real Estate or Finance; MBA a plus
  • Must have a valid driver s license and annually provide proof of auto insurance
Experience/Skills
  • Minimum of five years experience as a real estate business analyst, administrator business project manager
  • Relevant Development, Analysis, Finance Modeling experience strongly preferred
  • Multi-family Real Estate experience highly preferred

Essential Functions
  • Independently source, analyze, assess, prepare presentation and gain IC One approval for prospective development opportunities
  • Prepare comprehensive presentation materials that include exhibits of development merits, demographic analysis, market analysis and competitive product evaluation suitable for approval by supervisors
  • Conduct market research, as assigned, for new developments, potential acquisitions, and projects under construction
  • Develop initial ProFormas for new development opportunities to include conceptual financial analysis, feasibility and modeling
  • Effectively collaborate with in-house property management leadership to evaluate achievable rental levels, expense comparable and expense estimates for development opportunities being considered
  • Become knowledgeable with costs associated with development, including physical construction costs, site development costs, pre-development costs and estimates through collaboration with Develop Manager and Preconstruction estimate submittals
  • Research, analyze, and make recommendations as needed regarding real estate development projects, acquisitions, dispositions on projects assigned
  • Prepare documentation for closing of various transactions including closings for development, acquisitions and dispositions when requested
  • Research and make recommendations for consultants, products, and permits on active development project tasks assigned to you
  • Prepare financing packages for development and acquisition opportunities as well as the Buckingham Fund opportunities
  • Analyze RFP s for opportunity, feasibility and market research
  • Analyze target markets for the Buckingham Fund as well as development and acquisition opportunities
  • Provide feedback on projects presented in Investment Committee as requested
  • Effectively communicate with brokers, lenders, prospective clients, housing agencies, government agencies, legal counsel as required to perform the above duties
  • Prepare reports, correspondence and other paperwork on a timely, professional and accurate basis
  • Ensure company policies, procedures and guidelines are complied with in a professional manner and are demonstrated in all oral and written communications
  • Provide support for the development activities as directed
