JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to lead the achievement of strategic goals and deliverables for a large, global client account.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops, implements and maintains key strategic initiatives including Capital Planning, Smart Building Technology projects, Portfolio Strategy, Occupancy Planning, and Workplace Strategy among others. This requires managing across different functional areas of the CBRE account team and client organization to marshal resources and drive results. Working with account and client leaders, defines priorities for strategic initiatives that will deliver high value to the client. Engages CBRE platform resources as required to support the strategic initiatives. Platform resources could include Facility Management, Project Management, Real Estate Consulting, Transaction Management, Technology, Energy & Sustainability, etc. May collaborate with other line of business team members to forecast and develop annual real estate plans and implement strategies for achieving savings and cost avoidance goals. May conduct periodic interviews of account team and client leaders to identify future business direction related to growth, labor, market changes and other issues that could impact real estate requirements or provide insights relative to strategic and/or optimization-focused initiatives as required.


Develops 5-year real estate and capital plans as required.


May develop benchmarks for the client's real estate portfolio to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.


Other duties may be assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. Masters degree in Business, Economics, Urban Studies, or related program or MBA preferred. Minimum of 8 years of business consulting and real estate experience is required.


CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Real estate license (where required by state law)
Professional certification, professional designations (e.g. BCCR, CCIM, CPM, MAI) and/or graduate level training in commercial real estate is desirable.


COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, and senior management. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.


FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews and analyzes complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by others and develops innovative solutions.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the account s performance and client satisfaction.


OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite Products. Able to use a variety of analytical tools to visualize data and draw insights from that analysis. Highly collaborative in a team environment. Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.


SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
