Analyst - Global Investment Strategy

Responsibilities

As an Analyst with Hines, you will drive analysis in support of Global Investment Strategy team—a group tasked with identifying and promoting key investment opportunities across the firm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Drive the advancement of new investment ideas and/or products – from idea generation and data collection through analysis and modeling to presentation of final recommendations
• Support analysis of deals for the Hines Investment Committee to highlight, overlap with or divergence from key firm goals
• Identify real estate trends at a local, regional, and global scale; identify new strategic opportunities and pursue specific analyses to support further advancement of these new opportunities
• Apply modeling techniques and market knowledge to large, unconventional data sets
• Coordinate with other analysts/associates to prepare reports or provide insights and guidance to the Global Investment Strategy team, CIOs, and the Investment Committee
• Aggregate knowledge and identify patterns across the firm to gain key insights about our assets, business lines, investment decisions
• Efficiently and concisely prepare a high volume of slide decks in order to share information on new and existing business opportunities for review by constituencies across the firm
• Form collaborative relationships with local offices and other internal and external constituencies in furtherance of the above

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
• One or more years' work experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to think creatively and abstractly about large issues and translate ideas into actionable investment strategies
• Candidate should demonstrate quantitative proficiency and skills, but high-level mathematical/economic/finance background or accreditation not required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Able to solicit key information through listening, questioning and synthesizing
• Excellent communication skills; high level of attention to detail
