Aimco is hiring an Operational Accountant to join our Accounting Team in Bethesda, MD.

And we want you on our Accounting Team!
- Manage the day-to-day accounting and month-end close functions for a regional set of apartment communities.
- Operating accruals and reclasses.
- Bad Debt reserve analysis.
- Operational significant transaction recording and reporting.
- Audit PBC workpapers (as identified).
- Commercial Lease, CAM and Percent Rent accounting.
- Ancillary Income
- Record financial transactions.
- Prepare and review financial reports.
- Prepare reconciliations, rollforwards, and financial analysis.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, trend analysis, and fluctuation commentary.
- Comply with internal controls.
- Provide financial reporting and analysis to internal and external business partners.
- Participate in special projects.
- Identify and work to implement process improvement.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent relevant education
- 2+ years' accounting experience where you supported multiple locations (retail stores, restaurants, hotels, residential communities etc.)
- Exposure to REIT, retail, hospitality or comparable industry
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Master's Degree is Accountancy, CPA, CMA is a plus!
