Italy’s Emma Morano, the world’s oldest living person, marked her 117th birthday Tuesday. President Trump, at 70, is our oldest President, ever. Wilbur Ross, the new Commerce Secretary, is 78. Is 60 about to become “The New 40: Middle-Age”? Emma in Italy was 60 more than 57 years ago, a long time to live off retirement savings. Workers age 50 or older now comprise 33.4% of the U.S. labor force, up from 25% in 2002. And more than 60% of workers age 65 or older now hold full-time positions, up from 44% in 1995. 26% of entrepreneurs who started new businesses in 2015 were 55 to 64 up from 14.3% in 1996, according to a Kaufman Foundation study reported in the “Wall Street Journal”. Future opportunities, regardless of age, are looking bright.
