As a Center of Excellence within the School of Business, the mission of the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate is to help recruit, educate and mentor real estate students with the goal of facilitating their career pursuits in a socially responsible manner and with a global perspective. They accomplish this mission through support of outstanding faculty and professional staff, dedicated career services, active industry involvement and outreach and relevant and applied research.
The center provides course offerings to real estate professionals at all levels of career development through various academic and extracurricular programs. Undergraduate:
They offer something not many other undergraduate business programs can: a real chance to learn what it takes to become a successful real estate pro—whether through commercial real estate, working for a developer, selling residential properties or investing in your own version of Park Avenue. You'll learn legal and ethical principles of commercial and residential real estate, financing, valuation and investment practices. As you progress, you can intern and network with local industry professionals and see firsthand how sustainable real estate works.
Graduate:
The school is eager to help advance your real estate career. And fast. In 10 months, you'll broaden your body of knowledge, make connections with real estate professionals and become better equipped in your current role—or primed for something greater. Guided by our faculty's cutting-edge research, you'll learn the latest best practices in ethical and sustainable real estate. You'll learn all the stages involved in developing commercial real estate, including site acquisition, property valuation, financing and marketing and leasing strategies. Our dedicated real estate professors will lend you their quantitative expertise as you learn financial modeling and train for the industry's most sought-after professional designations, like ARGUS, LEED and CCIM.
