The Real Estate Finance and Investment Center offers undergraduate and graduate students an interdisciplinary and practical education in real estate. The Center brings together exceptional faculty and top industry professionals to facilitate cutting-edge research and curricula for undergraduate and graduate students. Real Estate Investment Funds Experience
The real estate certificate program is more than a minor and can be pursued alongside any undergraduate degree at UT Austin. The program, which focuses on interdisciplinary understanding of real estate’s broad scope, as well as proficiency in real estate finance.
BBA students can major in finance with a special focus in real estate. BBA students can also participate in several co-curricular activities through membership in the Undergraduate Real Estate Society (URES). This track is restricted to undergraduate finance majors at the McCombs School of Business.
The MBA Real Estate Concentration is tailored to students seeking careers in real estate finance, investment and development. The Center emphasizes the importance of a concurrent classroom and experiential learning. Our graduates have both the technical and practical skills to succeed as leaders of tomorrow’s real estate industry. The MBA Real Estate Concentration is exclusively available to students in the full-time program.
The REIT Fund, which began in 2007, and the Private Equity Fund, launched in 2016, are both student-managed investment funds that establish McCombs as the nation’s pre-eminent real estate education institution. Selected MBA students serve as equity managers, while faculty members and an outside advisory board act as student mentors and oversee the fund performance.
McCombs holds the distinction of being the only business school in the country where students have the opportunity to manage both public and private real estate investment funds as part of their course work.
