We are hiring a Healthcare Underwriting Associate with highly advanced Excel skills, who can provide analytical and project-related support by quickly analyzing transactions and preparing proposals to provide multi-million-dollar loans to owners of healthcare facilities throughout the United States. The Associate will be based in our New York, NY office.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete initial analysis of proposed transactions by analyzing risk and assessing factors such as healthcare market dynamics, financial performance, leverage, physical condition, and sponsor creditworthiness
  • Collaborate with underwriters to issue quotes and applications to prospective clients
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with a transaction and provide ideas for solutions and risk mitigation
  • Manage/oversee transaction from engagement through closing, helping to ensure the most timely process and most positive customer experience
  • Input property-specific financial information into database systems and Excel workbooks
  • Compare the subject property’s performance with that of comparable properties
  • Review and analyze appraisals, market studies, environmental reports, and inspection reports
  • Analyze financial statements and credit
  • Draft sections of the underwriter narrative
  • Perform other financial and/or administrative tasks, as needed, to assist the company
Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required
  • 5 years prior experience of either healthcare bridge loan or HUD 232 lending 
  • Highly advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Reader, PowerPoint, and internet search engines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize conclusions and make recommendations
  • Ability to conduct research and verify facts quickly
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
