M1 Ventures (“M1”) is a New York City based real estate private equity manager specializing in U.S. middle-market transactions. Since inception in 2019, M1 has leveraged its unique platform to execute investments across the capital stack and risk-return spectrum with a focus on multifamily, retail and office assets in the New York metropolitan area. The firm currently manages 23 commercial real estate properties and investments.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Real Estate Asset Management Analyst. The Asset Management Analyst will support in managing the day-to-day operations for our real estate portfolio, including tenant relations, leasing, financial analyses and financial reporting. This role will report to the Head of Asset Management and will require working effectively with senior management in a highly entrepreneurial, team-oriented environment. This opportunity offers the potential to grow within the company based on merit.

Responsibilities

• Investment performance tracking: analyze property reports, compare with projections, identify and address key issues.
• Financial reporting and budgeting: prepare various periodic reports for senior management and investors, and aid in annual budget creation.
• Lease management: oversee all leases, track key dates, and ensure tenant and landlord lease obligations are being fulfilled.
• Loan management: oversee all loans, track key dates, and ensure loan obligations are being fulfilled.
• Financial and operational analyses: prepare various analyses, including income and expense analyses, rental comparables, and property condition assessments, focusing on identifying opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in accounting, finance, or real estate
• Understanding of fundamental real estate concepts
• Proficient in creating and analyzing Excel financial models
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to methodically solve problems, quantify and present solutions
